Door Of Faith Orphanage (Mexico)-Mission Trip '08

I just got back from Mexico! I went with a group of people from our Jr. High ministry at Saddleback Church. We all went down to a Christian-based orphanage called "Door of Faith" (http://www.dofo.org/). It was the most awesome experience, and I would go back in a heart beat!

While there, we painted a couple of the houses they have on their site. We also played with lots of the orphans there. The nursery was my favorite place to be. There were little babies from 1-3 years, that all they wanted was to be held. My heart sank when one of the coordinator's told us that the Mexican government will bring babies to their orphanage as young as 6-8 WEEKS old! It was very hard to see these little ones-and, yet, they don't know anything different. They had huge smiles on their faces.

I thank God for the chance to go down there. It was a huge blessing and I experienced pure joy down there.
